The Nissan NP300 Hardbody

Known around the world as the NP300, the Nissan Hardbody is the almost legendary Nissan bakkie - reliable and durable, yet still amazingly affordable. Although the Hardbody is now called the Nissan NP300 Hardbody, it’s still the same workhorse of choice when you need a proven vehicle you can really rely on. Now you also get higher ground clearance on certain models, bigger wheels (on "S" and "SE" models) and long travel suspension to add to what is already a proven hardworking and reliable work bakkie.

  • Driver: adjustable sliding front seats, zone-tinted windscreens, tinted glass and moulded mud-flaps; new durable felt roof lining; four spoke steering wheel; door panel storage space; new dashboard layout with digital clock and odometer; dual-trip meters; dashboard glove box (on “S” and "SE" models), dual airbags (on "SE" models), low fuel warning light and a headlamp-warning buzzer.
  • Payload: 1101kg to 1359kg; built-in divider for creating separate loading areas; extra-strength tailgate chains; double-walled tailgate; rear-side panels and sturdy cargo hooks.
  • Power: 2.0 to 2.4l diesel engines producing 84kW to 105 kW with from 2x4 or 4x4 and 5-speed manual transmission; NP300 diesel engines being upgraded with Navara technology to 2.5l common rail turbo diesel engine with intercooler for cleaner firing, along with extra power and torque.
  • Safety: single rail, closed steel ladder chassis, toughened suspension and fade-resistant shock absorbers; enhanced impact protection and optional safety such as dual airbags; aerated front brake discs, side protection bars in all doors, halogen headlights, headrests on all seats and the Nissan Triple Safety System.
